Inés' Fab Four bash had its Beatles drum piñata and...

an Art Happening that found all attendees quickly immersing themselves into the paints.


In the end the kids and adults alike had great fun painting and dancing to the Beatles. Thank yous to everyone who joined us in celebrating Inés' birthday!

Two Zzz's

Sometimes, they just synch up and fall asleep at the same time. Often, not in the same place. Here, Ines was drawing at her table, eating a PBJ sandwhich, and cold passed out. Rio, meanwhile, found Mom's scent on her pygamas and fell asleep with that soothing aroma...

The Pep, out like a light

Notice, please: 1) The cantilevered doll; 2) The video glow in the foreground; 3) The general disarray in which the bed lies; 4) The fact that she fell cold asleep in the only remaining section of bed, precariously close to the edge.

Pepapuff Girls

Ines is the fourth Powerpuff Girl. She alternates favorites between Buttercup and Blossom. If anyone w/ an interest has not seen the Beatles tribute show, check it out here (in medias res, but it's a funny bit)- it's awesomely rad! Powerpuff!!!

Bathtime for Rio

Rio enjoys a refreshing herbal soak with the help of his Papa. In the second photo Rio shows his tender side.

Ines proudly shows off her finger painting skills with a special message for Dad. Rio on the other hand is spending a quiet afternoon with his plush friends.

Morning Theater in Hermann Park

"Sleeping Beauty" by the Houston Grand Opera's Opera to Go! in Hermann Park. Ines enjoyed the show, saw a baby turtle, and played in the fountain. Rio mostly watched. Like a hawk.

The Little King

This was what Ines proclaimed when she saw this hat on Rio. What's funny about this shot is that he is literally on the throne. Yup. He's makin'. Luckily his seat is made from easy-clean foam plastic.
